Well, for those of you who haven't heard of vassal here's a quick run down..

Quote:
Vassal is a game engine for building and playing online adaptations of board games and card games. It allows users to play in real time over a live Internet connection. It runs on all platforms, and is free for personal use.

We have developed a module to play Game Workshop's Warhammer 40,00 game using Vassal. This enables online play, meaning you can play people from around the world, using the tabletop rules. We are currently developing a module so Warhammer Fantasy Battle can be played via Vassal.

The V40k module is being developed readily bringing in new sprites and terrain with each release. The module has grown greatly since it's first conception by xhrit.com and then later on Rimciv. I would like to thank him for his great idea and the laying down of the basis of the module. If you wish to help with the V40k module, Reference this thread.

The Fantasy module is based off the V40k module but with major coding changes to enable wheeling and other such maneuvers. Mehrunes is in charge of the development of this module. If you wish to help him in anyway, contact me so I may pass on his email to you.

4) Start the Vassal program

Starting the Vassal program is pretty straight forward. Open the vassal folder you downloaded to the desktop and double click on the VASSAL file circled below.

5) Play the Vassal 40k Module

The Vassal program will open up as pictured below.

Click the "play module" button and select the zipped 40k Module file that you downloaded to your desktop earlier.

6) Look for a game online[/size]

Select the "Look for a game online" option and click finish.

The next screen you see is the logged on Vassal 40k Module Controls panel. This is the main area that contains everything you'll need to play a game online.

You should be able to find further guidance on how to set up a game from players in the chatroom.

Main site for Vassal Development is Heresy-online.net.

Any who, yours truly is the New sprite dude, and man have I been busy, for V4.0 of the module I've redone the Robot Boy Toy and the Chaos Marines, next on my list is daemons, here are the sheets of sprites I've done so far :)

Robot Boy Toy

And Chaos marines.. so.. many.. sprites..

Basically it's great way to use new armies without having to buy them all, and play people from all over the world :)

Will keep you all updated for V4 which will be sooon.

Incredible...I've read other forums but have not found such a coherent, easy-to-follow guide. I've stickied it and slightly altered the title.
