Nurgle's Choice Awards

The what now?
The idea of the competition, to reward members for their modelling and painting skills, is admirable but something of a pain in the butt, especially for a smaller community. Diverting your attention from I find you tittilating and mildly arousing it is you’re doing to produce an entry that fits in with a competition’s specific theme and guidelines is counter-productive. The Corrupt Creations board is regularly updated; most of us post there frequently, so why not make things easy on ourselves?

The Nurgle’s Choice Award is a monthly scheme that effective replaces the monthly competition.

The idea is simple: each month you may nominate up to two different pieces of work by up two to members (other than yourself) to be short listed for the Nurgle’s Choice Award. On the first day of the following month a poll is opened where we each vote for the best piece from those nominated. The winner receives that month’s prize.

At the end of the year we can take it further and vote for the best from the years monthly winners!

How it works (the rules):

• Each month a thread will be created ‘Nurgle’s Choice Award – This Month’
  
• You may nominate for up to two different pieces posted in Corrupt Creations each month by naming the original poster and the piece of work
  
• The piece can be a painted single miniature, squad, vehicle, daemon, etc.
  
• The piece must be finished. WIP pieces are no longer valid nominations.
• The nominated piece must have been posted in the current month.
  
• You may not nominate the same piece twice.
  
• You may nominate for the same member twice.
  
• You may not nominate yourself.
  
• On the first day of the following month the nomination thread will be closed and a poll with each nomination will be created. You will have a week to vote for your winner.
  
• You may not vote for yourself.

The Prizes:
- 1st = 7 rep points, $100 Rotten Rewards (forum cash) and a winners banner.
- 2nd = 4 rep points, $50 Rotten Rewards (forum cash)
- 3rd = 2 rep points, $20 Rotten Rewards (forum cash)

In the event of a tie for 1st place the winer will be decided by Mabrothrax, Dezartfox, or Squiggoth (so long as they’re not in the tied position)

Notes on Nominating

The NCA is not strictly speaking a painting competition, rather it is a way to reward, congratulate and celebrate the various bits 'n' pieces that we all post in the Corrupt Creations board.

You nomination may be for a model (or squad etc) that is painted to a standard you think is excellent, you might nominate a conversion or scratch built model that blows you away, or a piece of terrain even.

WIP pieces are suitable nominations if you think they show good execution and development of an idea, or you might chooe to nominate a piece that shows the improvement of a members skills and abilities.

As for when you make nominations, well that's entirely up to you, you may be so awestruck with a piece that you nominate it within seconds of it being posted, or you may prefer to wait till the end of the month, go back through all the various posts and pick you favourite(s).

3 points: Add a description to your custom rank

When/if new mods are uploaded that see the return of Karma or a change in the customisability of ranks/groups etc the prize list will be revised.

And NO naughty requests for custom avatars/smilies!
