So, my fisrt post I think. Heres the story. Me and 4 other friends started playing warhammer together about a year ago. We are all at the point were our first armies are almost done. I started an undivided CSM army but it slowly turned into a Death Guard army. Well one friend in paticular I consistantly beat, sometimes real bad, like turn one defeats kinda thing. He plays Tau and its often been blamed on my codex vs his, I disagree with this since one night we switched armies and the "greater good" won. I blame it on experience, I've had the time to play more, at tournaments and a much larger diversity of oppenents. He is getting better and our games closer but I still always win.
Now hes recently bought a Dark Smelldar army with maximum amount of Raiders, ravagers and dark lances. From what I understand, I'm being told by other people that I have no chance, that this really is codex vs codex. I wouldn't really mind this, and the impending doom if he didn't spice up the rivalry by telling me that if it was the other way around he wouldn't be as sportsmanlike and that he would enjoy the complete spompings that are going on. We are best friends but we are also very competitive with each other. Its still a month or so before his DE are ready and I have tomake him hate The Death Guard even more than he already does, I have to find away to win.
I can field almost anything you can imagine in a Death Guard List.

Hi Milkstorm, Please do so as Pake said... or he will point his pockey ban-stick at you Only I can say to DE is that you should expect closecombat in turn one. Shot all Transport asap since these will unload a group of howling junkies that rip your precious troops to pieces. I guess redicoulous amount of troops are pretty good against them... so you have a better chance to survive cc and can hit back. Also be aware of the Lords, the chance that they kill themself with their own drugs is much higher than for you to hit them in CC. This will also be the only army that will have problems with CC-Dreads (Pake you know what pain CC dreads are). In the game I once played the DE-Warriors had no chance in harming my dread. Maybe the others here have better Ideas.

Hi all.
Now this is a situation that I have a lot of experience with, sound thrashings at the girly hands of the Dark Smelldar! Milkstorm, your friend sounds a lot like my cousin, who has a huge DE army and has tailored it to give me as much grief as possible. Massed Dark lance and disintigrator (sic) spam effectively negates all of the protection we're know for, doubly bad as I run a mech heavy list. Beware the Talos! T7 and three wounds means they're resilient enough to act as a shield for the raiders full of witches that are no doubt advancing behind them. My cousin usually runs three of these things, (and are the reason I am currently trying two Havoc squads) once they get into combat you can kiss your nice seven man PM squads goodbye!
I have a real problem with them, although I'm still fairly n00bish, anyone have any suggestions?
