Right then I hope you have gotten over the shock that, not only do we have a new forum, but I am moderater of it! (Which I think is Mabs way of keeping my spamming in check.)
So the idea for this forum is to have a set mission to accomplish every month, something that you don't HAVE to do but that you OUGHT to do, with points awarded to all the members that complete them as follows:
Task completed in same month as set - 3 points
completed a month late -2 points
completed after that - 1 point
To earn these points you need to have at least one WIP picture and one picture of the model complete.
These points are seperate from those you can earn in the NCA and are added up at the end of the year with the most points winning....something
Please note that it is possible to earn bonus points for both quality and (to some extent) quantity. For example the first months mission is to create a Nurgle banner, if the banner is of fantastic quality you may earn a bonus point for a job well done or if you make more than one banner you may earn a bonus point(s) for sheer dedication to the mission. However if you make multiple banners that show no real effort (other than to get more points!) you get no bonus as Papa Nurgle is not impressed by your lack of devotion!
That being said this is a place for people to try their hand at some new things and learn along the way, so dont be shy or worried about not being good enough! Get stuck in
I shall post each months new mission and you then create your own thread to post the WIP/finished models (including paint people!) along with any tips, hints and things you have learnt along the way.
I will keep a log of all the points earnt in here, good luck and may your imagination run to the rotten.
OK, July's Mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create a Nurgle Banner....1-2 points still up for grabs.
Augusts mission (should you choose to accept it) is to sculpt a nurgling!
Lets be clear from the outset as the last mission led to a fair few questions about exactly what the mission meant.
you are to SCULPT a nurgling. that means no kit bashing bits, you CAN use wire etc to sculpt around though if you want.
Now this is something i have long thought about trying myself but i have always been to nervous about trying and FAR to scared to let anyone else see my attempts!!
This is not about being able to sculpt like Svart, this is about trying new things learning and having fun....1-2 points still up for grabs.
OK, septembers and octobers mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create a set of three Nurgle objective markers, at least the size of a Plague Marine base....1-2 points still up for grabs.
Novembers mission is simply to create a Familiar. You can use what ever models you want, Green stuff only or what ever. Bonus points for coolness. oh and of course it has to be finished...2-3 points up for grabs
Decembers mission is to create some NEW fluff for your army. now this can be for a new model you make or an existing one. the idea here is to delve into the background of your force so we can all learn a bit about what makes your guys tick AND to add some flavour to our armies. Its a bit different this month but this has always been about getting us to do something different in our hobby and to tackle those areas we tend to miss out. As a side note this will be the last month to decide on who wins the prize.... 3-4 points up for grabs
