So this weekend just been I attended a big tournament in my area we had 24 40k player represent.
I'd been putting in heaps of effort to get ready for it and in my preparations found this site in all its filthy glory! XD

The weekend was huge, great games and lots of great people, and after the dust settled I came out with 2nd place butcher, 2nd place overall, and the best painted army!

I played:

a well balanced rogue trader Smurf Tart army (looked mean - took 4 years to collect),

deathwing (2 land raiders, 1 landraider crusader, and 3 units of terminators with belial),

tau boat force

Red Ones Who Overact Fasta (

shooty Smurf Tart force

and lastly a deepstriking guard army that toted a ton of melta and plasma, 2 hellhound and 2 lemun russes.

I drew against the Red Ones Who Overact Fasta, lost to the shooty Blue-clad Twats, and won the other 4 games.

My own army was:

deamon prince with wings, MoN and nurgles rot

7 plague marines
powerfist
2 flamers
rhino

2 units of 7 plague marines
powerfist
2 melta
rhino

2 units of 7 plague marines
powerfist
2 plasma

2 possessed vindicators

defiler

I'd show you all some pic of my army but I dont know how to attach any images or what ever, but they were kinda green and yuck :)

So what happened with the shooty Blue-clad Twats? Was there anything you could have done better or differently that would have changed the outcome? Or are they just underpriced (likely!)?

:tenti:

Nah, against the Blue clad twats (it cracked me up when I saw the changes the site made!) it was clever deployment by him and a unlucky first turn for me.

We had a large bit of difficult terrain that blocked LOS in the middle of the table. I got first turn, deployed centrally so as to head his way where ever he went. He castled up in a corner forcing me to play catch up with half my force.

Then in my first turn I immobilized one of my vindicators and one rhino trying to cross the difficult terrain, and in his first turn he bagged my defiler.

After that I was really playing catch up. At the top of the 3rd I decided it would be a moral victory if I could kill Marneus, which I did :)
