Right as some of you will have seen Tim has done some fantastic DW models my absolute favourite is his FW chappy dread. I love it!
We where chatting away in the papanurgle chat box and i said i thought the model could make a really cool nurgle dreadnought conversion...more chat followed, ideas flowed and i decided that for my seventh and final dread in my DG apoc force a converted chappy dread would look AWESOME.
so here is the inspiration for my dreadnought:

Yay! I think chappy skull helmets are a natural fit for Nurgle armies. Looking forward to how this turns-out!

I can't wait either! Hey Phil how about mocking up some pics with the two Nurgle claws (before you dive in) like we talked about? I would love to see how that looks!

Hmm... I can't wait to see some more progress on this. That Dread looks great even before being Nurglized

I think I am of the same mind as you phil (I know a scary thought indeed), The head looks good but ubsure about how I feel about it. I mean if its gonna be Nurgley, not sure if it is the right head. BUT it seems to fit in nicely there.

Now I am wondering about your CC weapon choice, does it have anything to do with the tenticles in the bottom right hand corner of the last pic, ugg it's killing me.....

I love the nurglings from the legs! But Iḿ not sure about the head... Do you have anything else for a head? Maybe try it and post it here?

the idea for the nurglings was that the 'alcoves' (i am sure there is a proper term for those..) are some kinda warp gateway for them to come through, the one on the left in the pic is too big and is stuck trying to get out :P. I am going to have a row of nurglings on the base to show a 'stream' of them leaving the warp...good idea?

The head, my first thought was to have a PB head in there, maybe to add horns to the row of skulls. but i remembered i had this lil guy and thought i would see what it looked like, its only pinned in place and not glued so it is easy to remove.

thanks

phill
