What is the correct size for the beast of nurgle in 40K and fantasy?
It looks to big for 40mm bases. :squigfail:

I also want to use some other big monsters (all with snail like body's) as beasts of nurgle. I would put them on 60 (40K) and 50 (fantasy) mm bases. Other creatures without snail body's will become spawn on 40 mm bases.

Good idea or not allowed?

You can always use a larger base than original but not smaller. Using bigger bases is totally acceptable because it only lets your opponent to fit more models in HTH with your model.
Beasts come with 40mm bases because 60mm are for monstrous creatures.

Go with bigger bases if you wish to.

I have 60mm bases on mine. They came with 60mm bases in the big daemon army box but in the blisters they have 40mm bases... :squigfail:

GW wants people to use the correct bases i think.. i dont really think it's a problem with bigger bases but i have met players that do.

Once they whined about my plaguemarine asp having a 40mm base(as i wanted to have a plague dogie on it too to show the +1 attack) because i could use it to get further when dissembarking from a transport.

silly if you ask me.

Rules lawyers. I hate them.
Funnily, one of our club's regular members IS a lawyer. Never met a more laid back guy.
He's ok with everything, even if it wasn't for his benefit.

That's the correct answer ... GW can't be arsed to come up with a coherent base size system because that would mean they'd have the perform the inhuman task of writing a memo to the packaging department. In the case of Beasts (and many other models) the base size is 40mm square, 40mm round, 50mm square or 60mm round depending on wether you bought them in a blister or a box.

I use rackham cthonian larva for beasts, as well as FW plague ogryns, if I use them at all. I like the concept of beasts more than I like playing them :'(
The cthonian larva might work well for your 'shelled' beasts, if you can find them. I see type 1 a bit, type 2 was difficult to find for me, though I did recently acquire a type 2 (from italy, no less).
